The world was a much better place when this was the full extent of club’s attempts to ‘monetise’ their fans loyalty.

Do You Remember Those Biscuits They Don't Make Anymore?

I wish I was a metal fan. The shelves of newsagents throughout the land groan under the weight of magazines such Decibel, Zero Tolerance, Terrorizer, Kerrrrrraaaannnnggg, Metal Hammer and Metalworking Production. However if you're a timid indie kid in his early thirties who's not yet ready for a life of Britpop retrospectives in the Uncut retirement there’s not many options available. Q lies right in the middle of the road, getting smaller each year and giving every new release 4/5. If you’re a big band with a comeback album you can be sure their writers will hail it as a ‘stunning return to form’. The Word has well written articles but most of them aren’t about bands I’m interested in. Artrocker is too cliquey to be taken seriously and every article seems to label a group as the being the Best New/Unsigned/Live/Hard Rock/Electopop/Grindie/Elastic Band In The Country which makes it difficult to sort the angular wheat from the skinny tied chaff. "I'm the Liverpool star those b*tches are loving"

Based on his form over the past two years Mr Babel rapping about his football skills is like Joey Barton rapping about his diplomacy skills.

Actually, that sounds like a great idea and will hopefully be the first release on LLO Records sometime next year. Read More...

What Have We Learnt Today?

1. Malcolm Gladwell is suspicious of Atticus Finch.

2. Lady-Gaga.net is the largest and number one Lady Gaga fan site online to date with an overwhelming 1.5 Million hits.

3. You can now buy a pay-as-you-go mobile phone for £13 at Asda. £13! How can people hate capitalism when it gives us gifts like that? If any of our Cuban readers is able show a picture of that advert to Fidel Castro then we guarantee he’ll change his political views within seconds and building work at Cuban Disney World will start by the end of the week. £13!

4. The oche in darts is named after the brewing company “Hockey & Sons” who established the standard throwing distance from a dartboard.

5. “Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By” still sounds utterly fantastic. God bless Nathaniel Merriweather

LLO Spotify Playlist August 09 - The LLO-Bots

“We took our first pill when the music was shit, I said ‘Fuck dancing all night’ but then that’s just what we did”.

Every song/album/playlist/blog entry should start with a line as good as that. Unfortunately we couldn’t think of one so we’ve had to borrow it from start of the ever-wonderful ‘Floating’ by Jape which is the first song on LLO’s first ever officially sanctioned playlist.

To hear it, click on the picture above and then spend the next 51.8 minutes of your life listening to the eleven glorious tracks contain within. Each one has been hand-picked by LLO’s music-loving robots and is guaranteed to increase your general feeling of well being by at least 27%.
